INTRODUCTION TO THE FAMILY PAGE

In searching the World Wide Web, I've found many "Reynals." My random searching began in the early 1980's with early databases provided by Dow Jones and Dialog. This web site was created to serve as a reference for other "Reynal" searchers, in order to hopefully compliment the family tree and history.

Currently, we have no clear connection between the identified Reynals in the U.S. We are aware of a Jean Reynal from the West Indies who had many sons, and the top of our tree (Dr. Antoine Reynal) may have been from one of the families in the Caribbean. Our history also states Antoine may have originated from Nova Scotia in the mid 1700's.

I have also found Reynals in South America, notably Argentina. We are not familiar with the link there.

There are presently TWO ways to review the Reynal family tree:

1) Read the Reynal family story, which is a single body of text discussing known family descendants.

2) Alternately, you may start with a known name from the cross reference list, then jump into a particular person's biography/offspring page/file. Then you can select from hyperlinks that allow you to navigate up or down the family tree.

In the story, most people have a "key" number shown next to their name. This number is used to index through the family tree (links up to father) as well as additional information in files of the same number. Reynal lineage has keys shown in YYYYMMDD of the birthdate of the particular individual. When short birthdate information, the key is padded with "00" (invalid date string), "XX," and perhaps the initials of their first and middle names. Persons described outside of the Reynal lineage has nomenclature of "XXYYYYMM" where the "XX" is the first two letters of the surname. Best way going down is to run through the BODY.HTM file serially using your browser's "Find" command.

In the individual files, links are organized to point up to a parent (usually the father), and this approach fits the 1:MANY referential method used in databases.
